Open Space — Stating My Action

June 5th, 2023 2.00 pm – 5.30 pm MYT

The use of Open Space Technology allows every participant to develop more space for narratives so that personal life stories of action can be shared, more like-minded people can join the force, and everyone’s story of action can be fully heard.

Open Space Technology Concept

Enthusiasm and responsibility are the two elements that make up the open-space meeting style. Attendees can completely let their passions, not the agenda, determine their contribution and learning, and can decide for themselves how much responsibility they are willing to take on during or after the meeting.

Over the past 20 years, Open Space Technology has been used in many different organisations, cultures, and countries, where communities seek harmony, chemists search for new polymers, tribal and government leaders urbanised plans, and execute literacy programme with government and advocating reformers, architects designing pavilions for the Olympics, council meetings throughout the town, community workers helping communities rebuild and healing after wars, and more.

This tool can be used in groups of 5 to 5,000 people, yet the resulting dynamics and results are similar: people at every level contribute ideas, new ways of thinking and working, get lots of work done quickly, diverge opinions people working together on certain issues and projects, flexible organisations, cross-departmental or cross-community teamwork, a sense of accomplishment, enthusiasm, and energy to face future challenges.
